Senator Pimentel’s Seventh “Art for Change” Contest

        NENE FOR ARTISTS – The seventh on-the-spot Art for Change competition of Senator Aquilino Q Pimentel, Jr and Buhay Isang Awit Foundation, Inc was held last Saturday, 17 November 2007 at Central Atrium, Robinsons Pioneer, EDSA cor Pioneer St, Mandaluyong City with the theme: “Fighting Poverty.” Art for Change expresses Senator Pimentel’s commitment to advocate for the welfare of the youth, and his belief that the young people are instruments of change, unity and empowerment of the Filipino people. He likewise hopes that this worthy event will continue to inspire the youth to make a big difference through their gift of art. The Top Ten (10) Winners of this year’s contest are: (From right to middle): 9th finalist, Vince Luis B Recto, 10 yrs old, from P Guevarra Elem Sch, 8th finalist, Denlor O Peña, 12 yrs old, from Phil Tiong Se Academy, 7th finalists (a tie), Adrian Angelo C Rilloraza, 12 yrs old from Sta Isabel College and, Marx Lenin T Yaneza, seven yrs old, from Antonio Maceda Integrated Elementary School. (middle) 3rd place winner, Trisha Co Reyes, nine yrs old, from St Stephen High School, (89.66%), 2nd place winner, Jamia Mei Tolentino, nine yrs old, from St Stephen High School, (92%), and 1st place winner, Lord Daryll P Decena (94 %), 10 yrs old, from P. Guevarra Elementary School.
